In the Heart of Wauwatosa
Our neighborhood is bounded by; 68th Street to the east, Wauwatosa Avenue to the west, Milwaukee Avenue to the south and Lloyd and Melrose to the north. The houses on Garfield are not part of Olde Hillcrest, but the houses on 74th - which are adjacent to Garfield - are part of the neighborhood.
We are located close to schools, the Library and the Wauwatosa Civic Center. Perhaps best of all, we have a jewel of Wauwatosa located within our borders: the Wauwatosa Historical Society’s Kneeland-Walker House.
Stroll our lovely streets and enjoy the wonderful variety of architectural home styles, including stately Victorians, charming cottages, “farm” houses and Milwaukee bungalows while listening for sounds of children playing, the local high school’s band practicing and neighbors conversing.
We work together for a safe neighborhood. Sponsored by the Wauwatosa Police Department, our neighborhood Block Watch provides a strategic link between the police department and our neighbors. Volunteers from each block within Olde Hillcrest distribute “Tosa Watch” newsletters containing useful information, and assist in organizing police-sponsored events such as National Night Out and bike registration. The Block Watch group has been very successful in helping neighbors get to know neighbors and keeping Olde Hillcrest a safe and friendly community.
